Styling Plaid & Flannel

Sharing is caring!

TGIF! Happy Friday and November 1st! We had a bit of a dreary week but thankfully the rain held off last night for kids to go out for Halloween. However, today is absolutely gorgeous with bright blue skies as you can see in the photos. (and a bit windy, as you can see by my hair…lol)

Today I am giving you ideas for styling plaid and flannel shirts. Plaid shirts use to be considered more masculine but not anymore. They can be found everywhere and they can be quite feminine. They are such cute pieces to style for Fall and Winter.

I like wearing longer button down shirts as lightweight jackets because some Fall days can be a little tricky temperature wise. I’m wearing this neutral flannel tunic over a beautiful rose pink tank top that I picked up at Target. It comes in other colors too and is a longer length which I like and is only $8.00. What I like about this look is, it can be dressed up with some sparkling jewelry, shoes and a belt.

SMOKED PINK TANK TOP / WEDGE SNEAKERS / LARGE MOONSTONE CIRCLE NECKLACE / FLANNEL SHIRT

CREAM COLORED FLANNEL / MAPLE GLOW FLANNEL JACKET SHIRT

Here are a couple others that would also make great shirt jackets over tank tops, tee shirts and turtlenecks. These are chic enough to wear to work and going out with some great jewelry and accessories.

Plaid is so symbolic of Fall. I like a black plaid because you can add a top underneath too accent the color in the stripe. This one has thin pink lines and goes perfectly with my blush tank top. Pretty much any color will look good under a mostly black shirt.

This shirt is so beautiful. It has metallic threads going through it, giving it some sparkle. This one can definitely be dressed up nicely for the holidays. It comes in other colors as well. Going to show you the pretty pink one that I am obsessing over.

Create a pretty Fall outfit around plaid. Choose a lighter color plaid and add a pop of a deep color such as this gorgeous burgundy. A monotone outfit really comes to life with just a few pieces in a rich deep color. A dark purple would look really sharp with this as well.

I hope you found some inspiration for wearing plaid and flannel this season. Oh and they also make a great gift for the holidays. Feel free to ask questions or comment below. Have a fabulous weekend!
