We are definitely going through trying times at the moment. It’s understandable to feel anxious and scared. But when you are especially feeling that way, stop for a moment and remember that you are not alone. We are all in this together and we will all overcome this together.

Everyone needs to do their part and stay inside no matter how disruptive or uncomfortable it may be. This is a time to show compassion and kindness more than ever.

While I know how stressing it can be to feel confined, it is truly in the best interest for all of us to fight this. I want to help you get through this and am sharing a list of seven things you can do while being stuck inside. Things to help relieve anxiety and occupy your mind.

Read Inspirational Books

Reading can help you relax and take your mind off of what’s going on for just a little while. Inspirational books are especially helpful to uplift your mood. Here are some good inspirational books you may want to check out.

101 Motivational Quotes is a free book you can download. Read a few a day and share with your family.

Never Ever Ever Ever Give up is a collection of motivational cartoons and quotes that will inspire you to keep going when the going gets tough! A free book you can download.

Freshen Up Your Home

Another way to pass some time is to freshen up your home decor. Even a few small changes can help uplift your spirits. Go through your craft bin or seasonal decorations and pull out some silk floral or greenery. Maybe you packed away an old vase or ginger jar that you can pull out and re-purpose into a pretty tables-cape. Add extra candles to create an warm relaxing atmosphere.

Create an at Home Spa

Take some time out of the day to pamper yourself. You deserve it! Whether you are dealing with children home all day or trying to work from home, make time to just be still. And no better way to do that than with a relaxing bath.

Epsom Salt is a great stress reliever and also helps to detox the body. This one also has calming lavender to really help you relax.

Sit in the Sun

Get outside in nature and sit in the sun. The sun provides natural vitamin D which is essential to our well being. And nothing can help lift our spirits more than some bright sunshine.

Take your favorite book outside with you. It will help pass away hours and relax at the same time. If your home with children have them do the same.

Learn Something New

Did you ever want to learn how to do yoga, meditation, business topic or even a new language? Now is the time. Search for videos on YouTube or take a look at Udemy. Udemy is an online learning site. You can take online courses for pretty much anything and they are really affordable too. Who knows, it might be something that you eventually turn into a business.


Spring is officially here and if it’s warm in your area get outside in your yard and start gardening. Plan out a new flower bed, pull weeds or plant seeds and bulbs. Once this passes (and it will!) you’ll have a gorgeous yard of blooms to enjoy.

Start a Pinterest Account

If you don’t already have a Pinterest account, start one now. It’s a great way to window shop and you will literally get lost for hours on Pinterest.
